EXACT ORDER SORORITY RANKS - University of Georgia - UGA (2024)

by: Lo

1. Phi Mu
2. ADPi/Theta
3. Kappa
* 1-3 is all “old row” and all dirty rush. They seem to care more about their status than any one else

4. AOPi/KD
5. ZTA
*4&5 still care abt their image a good bit and still dirty rush to a certain degree

6. Chi O/TriDelt
*Chi O is technically “old row” but loves to use that title when they typically cross pref with 6-8 houses
7. GPhi/SK
8. DZ
*6-8 typically care a lot less about their “status” and moreso abt sisterhood. They also party just the same as anyone else above if not more lol

9. APhi
10. AXO
* 9&10 are similar to 6-8, but seem to care a little bit more about competing during rush and “copy cat” older chapters from the recruitment side at least. But the girls are still genuine to a certain degree (axo tends to be more genuine than aphi)

11. AGD/DG/Pi Phi
* these houses typically have the same recruitment numbers but a mix of vibes! Think of it like putting skittles, m&ms, and sour skittles in the same bowl! Look abt the same, but totally different flavors

12. SDT
13. DPhiE/AXiD
* very small chapters by numbers, but incredibly strong sisterhoods from what I know! AXiD may look different post-bid day, but their numbers simply aren’t known/strong enough right now

I see these rankings always have the same chapters at the top as old row and from what I’ve read those houses are sort of default listed on top because of connections or private school ties and that old row label. Are they really that filled with great, fun, friendly, smart and beautiful girls that makes joining a sorority so special or is it just a default thing? I’m sure they have great girls but if OR wasn’t a thing how would these houses actually stack up against the rest? I mean are they really that fun or nice to be with if they only want to mix with their previous circle of friends? Isn’t meeting great new people from different backgrounds what this is all about? I could be wrong but based on what I’m seeing great girls that aren’t from the Atlanta in crowd don’t go to those houses so is that “in crowd” really better or just more exclusive? Nothing wrong with that but seems like you’d be missing some of the best pnms with that approach and it’s the members who make the house great not the other way around. Maybe they are that good but the info on here just suggests they may be in their own category having nothing to do with where they actually rank as fun places to be.

Many of what you claim are top tiers have girls from small towns in Ga. It is likely they have generations of UGA alums and/or went to camp with others. Connections are beyond private high schools in the City of Atlanta(this may feel this way due to large numbers) and BUT Do include lake houses or beach houses or public schools with sports or camp connections. Plenty of public-school girls in what you say are top tiers. The key is many people regardless of house try to get their friends in their sorority/networking. In state girls are likely to stay active alums and support their chapter. So yes, sororities tend to take in state first. This is a state school. Some connections are from boarding schools etc. true, but the truth is you have the money to spend on sororities all houses are good at UGA. Once you are in all do the same things and a great pledge class is everything. The only difference with what you claim are higher tiers on this site is perhaps more fraternity mixer. The key is go where you feel connected to the group not based on mixers as most of this is about sisterhood and friends. Once you're in a sorority you make friends with your pledge class and this is where you spend most of your time. My family does not go to Europe each summer or ski or own a 2nd home. Do sometimes I feel left out as I cannot relate to my sorority? My family is active in our church with active UGA alums and no one in my family before me was in college let alone a sorority. I am not exclusive or pretty just average but was good at sports in high school. My parents could not pay for travel sports. My parents rent a beach condo once every other year and this is our only travel. I did mission work for spring break and work a 20 hour job while going to UGA. I room in house with an OOS girl with no connections coming into recruitment. We bonded as a lot of our pledge class already did know each other. But this year she and I did push for our home girl people. Not sure how it will turn out as despite what you may think not every girl you spoke to at each house has the key to getting you in the sorority, we may have loved you, but we are not the only person giving input. Most everyone going through recruitment has grades and looks to get in any house. Signed public school girl in top tier

Don’t get me wrong I wasn’t trying to put down anyone’s house. I’m in state and from a rural public school. We only have a handful of students to get into UGA any given year. I guess I was naive going into this process but I’m excited about my remaining options. I’m glad you seem to enjoy your house. That’s all any of us can hope for. In the end we’re all Dawgs and I couldn’t be prouder.
