This is delicious and great for a party. I made the fig mixture and chopped the walnuts a day ahead so just had to assemble and broil at the party. Definitely let your guests know you made the fig mixture. You'll get big kudos :)

Did not like this at all, which is out of the ordinary as I like most myrecipe.com recipes. In theory it sounds good, but the combo of flavors had a sticky, uninviting taste. Will not make again.

Best Appetizer ever! I've made these too many times to count. I usually double the recipe and have never had any leftover. I do toast the bread on one side first, flip it over then put fig and cheese on a broil. I've served them for formal occasions but have also brought them to Bunko.

I served this appetizer on Saturday night. What a hit! I never cook/eat figs, but this recipe has me hooked. The combination of the figs/orange and the soft goat cheese was wonderful. The prep work and cooking time were minimal and they were easy to assemble. I'm making this again for Thanksgiving day.

These were delicious! I made them for a small New Year's Eve party and they were gone very quickly. I thought they were a little sweet so would use half the sugar next time. I think another reviewer mentioned this also. quick and easy to make. I'm looking forward to making them again.

Wonderful appetizer. The only change I would make is to reduce the sugar to 1/4 cup - the jam came out a bit too sweet for my taste. This will now be my go-to appetizer for parties - it's delicious, unusual, and goes great with wine!

These were a huge hit at the party. I did add more juice from another half of an orange. It just didn't seem like enough originally. Next time I might make the bread a little thinner, and I'd chop the figs more.

I've made this a few times and it is always fabulous! I've changed it around though and I think the result is more elegant. I make the fig part the day before and refrigerate it. I bring it to room temp and add in the goat cheese and nuts and mix it all together. Instead of a baguette, I fill store-bought mini phyllo cups (with a small cookie scoop, so it has a beautiful dome on top) with the mixture. Then I put it in the broiler for a few minutes to melt the cheese a little and heat them up. Placed on a platter with some fresh rosemary sprigs, it looks amazing!

Served twice over the holiday season and each time this was received with rave reviews. The combination of figs and goat cheese is yummy! The walnuts add a festive touch. Will share this with my foodie friends.

I thought that this was tasty but was surprised when I brought them to a Christmas party and they did not move from the tray. The traditional tomato bruschetta that I brought dispapeared almost instantly, so I will just bring that next time. While I found this recipe to be good, I should have kept in mind that this recipe may not be to everyone's tastes.

I've made this twice.. once following the recipe... it was great. BUT even better, I substituted equal parts of cream cheese and blue cheese (and a bit of milk) for the goat cheese. Added the walnuts to the cheeses. Yummy. My nephew even asked for the recipe!

I LOVED this and so did my family. I thought 3 per person would be enough, but they were snapped up super quick! They make a nice presentation and could be served as a appetizer for a formal dinner, and yet they are easy enough to make on a normal day. I was out of rosemary, but tasted fine without it. I will get the rosemary next time, toast the walnuts beforehand and maybe throw in a little port when the fig mixture is cooking.

This was delicious. The only thing I changed is that I used 1/2 tsp ground ginger instead of the rosemary, as I am not a big rosemary fan. It tasted amazing. Brought it to a friends house for our Ladies Movie Night and it was a hit! Will definitely make it again and again when entertaining small crowds.

Made this for a holiday party--delicious and relatively easy to prepare. Everyone (even picky eaters) remarked on how good it was. A very classy appetizer!

Absolutely out of this world! Save some time by making the fig spread in advance.

This is a great recipe for entertaining. It's unique and very tasty. Make it all in advance and stick it in the oven right before they arrive. Only takes a couple minutes from that point and they are fantastic a little warm from the oven. Had to use tangerines once since I forgot to buy an orange and it turned out just fine.

I "assigned" this to a friend for our supper club and it was outstanding. Everyone loved it. I'm making it today to take to a party tonight. I'm going to serve the jam in a bowl with crackers and goat cheese on a platter (a sort of "make your own" version) to make it easier to transport. The jam would make a nice hostess gift, too.

This is easy to make, makes a great presentation and tastes delicious. To simplify preparation, make the fig jam in advance. I just made this for a party and everyone wanted the recipe.
